Priya Dhanger

BDS (Manc) 2020 MFDS RCS (Eng)
GDC No. 290610

After graduating in 2020 from the University of Manchester, Dr Priya went on to complete her foundation training in South Yorkshire which equipped her well with the basics in general practice. She enjoyed her first year as a dentist and she still stays in contact with her foundation trainer who is a mentor for herself.

Following this, she decided to pursue a year of dental core training in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at Bradford and Huddersfield hospitals which gave her a wealth of experience in surgery, working with both medical and dental professionals from various backgrounds to manage patients with oral cancer, dental trauma and those that require orthognathic surgery. Despite a steep learning curve, long hours on call along with working in A+E, she feels she was able to gain confidence in managing complex cases and high pressure situations. During this period, she passed additional post graduate exams to became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons.

Dr Priya went on to complete a second year of dental core training in Restorative Dentistry at Leeds Dental Institute which gave her an insight in to a different aspect of dentistry, gaining experience in endodontics, the rehabilitation of oral cancer patients, complex tooth wear and denture cases and the joint management of paediatric patients requiring multidisciplinary care. Her role also entailed teaching dental students which allowed me to develop my skills further.

Whilst currently working in a dental practice she enjoys all aspects of general dentistry with a passion for oral surgery and is always keen to expand on her knowledge and expertise by pursuing further training.

Aside from dentistry, she loves to spend time with her family and friends and enjoys crochet, reading and travelling whenever she can!
